|
Creamatocrit of breast milk was measured in 12 neonates(jaundiced group), who were diagnosed as late onset breast milk jaundice in pediatric OPD or NICU, SNUCH from Feb. 1989 till Feb. 1991 and compared with another 12 neonates (control group)
without
jaundice.
@ES The results as follows:
@EN mean creamatocrit was 5.34¡¾1.31% in jaundiced group and 4.84¡¾1.05% in control group respective. Creamatocrit was somewhat higher in jaundiced group than control group, but insignificant statistically.
In conclusion, creamatocrit is a simple and convinient method in measuring fat content of breast milk, but an insufficient index in the prediction and diagnosis of late onset breast milk jaundice.
